Long-time Anglicare CEO Peter Sandeman, who retired as AnglicareSA’s chief executive in December 2020 after eight years in the role, has joined the Housing Trust as Director, Strategic Advice. Since moving on from the social services organisation, he has been with UniSA Business school as an Adjunct Industry Professor. His new public sector role will see him provide expertise on the State Government’s recent alliance reforms to the homelessness services sector and other changes to social housing. Human Services Minister Michelle Lensink touted Sandeman’s experience and commitment in delivering housing outcomes. “Peter has decades of experience, supporting people in need of housing and homelessness services and other supports, both in South Australia as the CEO of Anglicare and in similar executive roles in NSW and the ACT,” she said. “He brings this experience to the Authority at a time when we’re delivering nation-first, bold and much-needed reform, including our new homelessness alliances and driving innovation across the sector.” The fledgling alliance reforms, which have been in place since July, saw five consortiums of homelessness services providers tasked with providing early intervention services and long-term housing support in four different regions across the state. Prior to joining AngicareSA, Sandeman was CEO of Anglicare for NSW South, NSW West and the ACT. He has also held senior roles with the Department of Trade and was a former Director with the State Government’s “Office of the North”.
